American Tyler Rueger won $1.9 million for 3rd place and New Zealand’s Thomas Ward brought home $1.35 million for his 4th place finish.
‘Poker Brat’ Phil Hellmuth busted in 750th right before the money bubble. In total, 728 spots were paid out across the $27,559,500 prize pool. There were three Americans at the final table with the other two, Tyler Cornell and Sam Taylor, finishing 8th and 9th respectively for $328,305 and $230,395.
In the final hand, 2nd place finisher Wenling Gao got all his chips in with AcAd only to see her opponent (yes, her) call with 7d6h. At that moment he had his opponent completely dominated. But Bulgaria’s Stoyan Madanzhiev miraculously flopped a 7-high straight and held on to win 1st place.

The final-table bubble took many long hours the night before and the unfortunate bubble girl was Team PokerStars pro Sandra Naujoks. The final eight players had fought long and hard to find their way to the final day, playing through a tough field of 84 players. There was a lull in the eliminations for a while after that and during that time the fortunes of the chip leader (Reinkemeier) heading into the day changed dramatically. Reinkemeier doubled up Will Molson, and even after doubling up once himself he was still at risk. The final hand came for Reinkemeier when he shoved with pocket eights but ran into the pocket kings of Reynolds. The kings held and Reinkemeier exited in sixth place ($108,045). Lisa Hamilton fell next in fifth place ($133,770). She was at risk with pocket jacks and they were off to the races against the A-Q of Molson. Molson found a queen and Hamilton’s run was over.
Adolfo Vaeza doubled up a few times to survive a little longer than Michiel Brummelhuis, who picked a bad spot to move all in against Reynolds. Brummelhuis shoved preflop with Q-9 and Reynolds was waiting with pocket aces. The board provided no assistance and Brummelhuis was eliminated in fourth place ($154,350). Vaeza had held on for a while but his tournament run came to an end in third place ($218,150) when he decided to move all in on a draw. He shoved with 5-3 in the hole on an A-6-4 flop and Reynolds snap-called with A-K in the hole. The turn and river changed nothing and that brought about a heads-up final between the two most active players at the table, Reynolds and Molson.

The first major pot during heads-up play went to Molson and he pulled even in chips with Reynolds after the hand. His Q-J beat the J-8 of Reynolds on a K-J-3-9-J board. Once things were even though, Reynolds took control of the match and grinded Molson to less than 1 million down during the next hour. Molson eventually shoved on a short stack with A-9, which had the A-8 of Reynolds dominated. The flop ran out 9-9-5-7-3 and Molson doubled up back to even with Reynolds.
Reynolds was the next player to find his stack all in and he shoved with pocket sevens preflop. Molson was waiting with A-3, but the sevens held for Reynolds and he once again held a dominant 4-1 chip lead. A few minutes later the final hand of the match hit the books. Molson moved all in preflop with K-8 in the hole and Reynolds made the call with A-10. The board brought no help for Molson, who now has the distinction of finishing runner-up in this event two years in a row. There was a lull in the eliminations for a while after that and during that time the fortunes of the chip leader (Reinkemeier) heading into the day changed dramatically. Reinkemeier doubled up Will Molson, and even after doubling up once himself he was still at risk. The final hand came for Reinkemeier when he shoved with pocket eights but ran into the pocket kings of Reynolds. The kings held and Reinkemeier exited in sixth place ($108,045). Lisa Hamilton fell next in fifth place ($133,770). She was at risk with pocket jacks and they were off to the races against the A-Q of Molson. Molson found a queen and Hamilton’s run was over.
Adolfo Vaeza doubled up a few times to survive a little longer than Michiel Brummelhuis, who picked a bad spot to move all in against Reynolds. Brummelhuis shoved preflop with Q-9 and Reynolds was waiting with pocket aces. The board provided no assistance and Brummelhuis was eliminated in fourth place ($154,350). Vaeza had held on for a while but his tournament run came to an end in third place ($218,150) when he decided to move all in on a draw. He shoved with 5-3 in the hole on an A-6-4 flop and Reynolds snap-called with A-K in the hole. The turn and river changed nothing and that brought about a heads-up final between the two most active players at the table, Reynolds and Molson.

The first major pot during heads-up play went to Molson and he pulled even in chips with Reynolds after the hand. His Q-J beat the J-8 of Reynolds on a K-J-3-9-J board. Once things were even though, Reynolds took control of the match and grinded Molson to less than 1 million down during the next hour. Molson eventually shoved on a short stack with A-9, which had the A-8 of Reynolds dominated. The flop ran out 9-9-5-7-3 and Molson doubled up back to even with Reynolds.
Reynolds was the next player to find his stack all in and he shoved with pocket sevens preflop. Molson was waiting with A-3, but the sevens held for Reynolds and he once again held a dominant 4-1 chip lead. A few minutes later the final hand of the match hit the books. Molson moved all in preflop with K-8 in the hole and Reynolds made the call with A-10. The board brought no help for Molson, who now has the distinction of finishing runner-up in this event two years in a row. He was awarded $322,075 in second place and Reynolds was crowned the champion. Reynolds was awarded a silver trophy and $576,240 in prize money.

The Catalina Casino is a large gathering facility located in Avalon on Santa Catalina Island, off the coast of Los Angeles in California. It is the largest building on the island and the most visible landmark in Avalon Bay when approaching the island from the mainland.
The large building contains a movie theater, ballroom, and formerly an island art and history museum.[1] The Catalina Casino gets its name from the Italian language term casino, meaning a ’gathering place’. Contrary to the current common usage of casino, this has never been a facility for gambling.[2]History[edit]Tile work decorating the entrance to the Catalina Casino
The Catalina Casino was built on a site formerly known as Sugarloaf Point. The site was graded for the planned construction of the Hotel St. Catherine, which was instead eventually built in Descanso Canyon. When chewing gum magnate William Wrigley Jr. bought the controlling stake in Catalina Island in 1919, he used this cleared site to build a dance hall he named Sugarloaf Casino. It served as a ballroom and Avalon’s first high school, until it became too small for Avalon’s growing population. In 1928, the Sugarloaf was razed to make room for a newer casino building. Sugarloaf Rock was further blasted away to enhance the Casino’s ocean view.[1][2]
On May 29, 1929, the new Catalina Casino was completed under the direction of Wrigley and David M. Renton, at a cost of $2 million.[3] Its design, by Sumner Spaulding and Walter Weber, is in the Art Deco and Mediterranean Revival styles. The casino’s movie theater was the first to be designed specifically for films with sound (’talkies’). It received the Honor Award from the California Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, as ’one of the outstanding architectural accomplishments’.
With a height equal to a 12-story building, it was built to serve as a theater on the main floor and a ballroom and promenade on the upper level.[1][2]Movie studio moguls such as Cecil B. DeMille, Louis B. Mayer, and Samuel Goldwyn frequently came by yacht to the Casino to preview their newest cinema productions. It also serves as the island’s civil defense shelter, large enough to accommodate Catalina’s entire year-round population. Within its walls is stored enough food and water for all Avalon’s residents for two weeks.[4]
The steel structure of the predecessor Sugarloaf Casino can still be found in Avalon’s abandoned bird park. The bird park was conceived by Mrs. Wrigley in the 1930s, and at the time it was one of the largest aviaries in the world.
In 1993 the movie theater was photographed by Hiroshi Sugimoto for his art series ’Theatres’.[5]
In 1994, the theater underwent a $750,000 restoration that reupholstered all of its seats and cleaned its murals.[3]
In September 2008, the Catalina Casino had the first live full production of a musical on its stage, when the Santa Catalina Island Company presented Grease!.
In December 2019, The Catalina Island Company stopped screening first run showings of movies, essentially ceasing its function as a traditional film venue.[3] They cite the rise of streaming services and large use of satellite television in the small town of 4000 as contributing factors to the theater’s low attendance.[3][6] However, the theater remain available for daily tours and special events such as the Catalina Film Festival and Silent Film Benefit.[7][3]Structure[edit]
Surrounded by sea on three sides, the circular structure of the Catalina Casino is the equivalent of 12 stories tall. It has a movie theater on the first level and a ballroom on the top level. The Avalon Theatre is a movie theater on the first level, with a seating capacity of 1,154.[8] It has a single massive screen.[9] The theater has its original 4-manual, 16 rank pipe organ built by the Page Organ Company of Lima, Ohio.[8]
The theater is sound insulated so that patrons do not hear the band or up to 3,000 dancers in the ballroom above. The circular domed ceiling has notable acoustics and has been studied by acoustical designers, due to its repute. A speaker on the theater stage can speak in a normal voice without a microphone and be heard clearly by all in attendance.
The theater’s interior walls retain the original Art Deco murals by John Gabriel Beckman. The theater’s facade had a painted mural of an Art Deco-style underwater world scene, which was later replaced with replications of Beckman’s design created in Catalina Pottery-style tiles. The upper-level houses the 20,000-square-foot Catalina Casino Ballroom. It is the world’s largest circular ballroom, with a 180-foot (55 m) diameter dance floor that can accommodate 3,000 dancers.[1] French doors encircle the room connecting the dance floor with the Romance Promenade, an open balcony that runs around the building.
To reach the ballroom on the top level, the Casino building has two ramped walkways, both in enclosed towers that extend out from the circular building. Wrigley took the idea to use ramps instead of stairs from Wrigley Field, his Chicago Cubs stadium. The ramps allowed the large numbers of people using the ballroom to quickly move to and from their destinations. In 1953, Philip K. Wrigley established the Catalina Island Museum on the first level, to preserve the history of the island from the pre-Columbian indigenous Tongva (Gabrielino) peoples through the pre-war 20th-century development by his father. The museum featured a large and comprehensive collection of original Catalina Pottery ceramics, produced by Catalina Clay Products between 1927 and 1937.[1]
On June 18, 2016, the museum relocated to a new building, located approximately one half mile from its original location in the Catalina Casino. The Ada Blanche Wrigley Schreiner Building is located at 217 Metropole Avenue.[1]
The museum continues documenting Catalina Island history, adding from World War II to the present day, and a research institute. It is the repository for all archeological digs on the island, and has one of the largest collections of Tongva artifacts in the world. There are now more than 10,000 photographs and negatives documenting island life from the early 1880s until the present day in the museum’s photography collection.[1]In popular culture[edit]

The Catalina Casino is a large gathering facility located in Avalon on Santa Catalina Island, off the coast of Los Angeles in California. It is the largest building on the island and the most visible landmark in Avalon Bay when approaching the island from the mainland.
The large building contains a movie theater, ballroom, and formerly an island art and history museum.[1] The Catalina Casino gets its name from the Italian language term casino, meaning a ’gathering place’. Contrary to the current common usage of casino, this has never been a facility for gambling.[2]History[edit]Tile work decorating the entrance to the Catalina Casino
The Catalina Casino was built on a site formerly known as Sugarloaf Point. The site was graded for the planned construction of the Hotel St. Catherine, which was instead eventually built in Descanso Canyon. When chewing gum magnate William Wrigley Jr. bought the controlling stake in Catalina Island in 1919, he used this cleared site to build a dance hall he named Sugarloaf Casino. It served as a ballroom and Avalon’s first high school, until it became too small for Avalon’s growing population. In 1928, the Sugarloaf was razed to make room for a newer casino building. Sugarloaf Rock was further blasted away to enhance the Casino’s ocean view.[1][2]
On May 29, 1929, the new Catalina Casino was completed under the direction of Wrigley and David M. Renton, at a cost of $2 million.[3] Its design, by Sumner Spaulding and Walter Weber, is in the Art Deco and Mediterranean Revival styles. The casino’s movie theater was the first to be designed specifically for films with sound (’talkies’). It received the Honor Award from the California Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, as ’one of the outstanding architectural accomplishments’.
With a height equal to a 12-story building, it was built to serve as a theater on the main floor and a ballroom and promenade on the upper level.[1][2]Movie studio moguls such as Cecil B. DeMille, Louis B. Mayer, and Samuel Goldwyn frequently came by yacht to the Casino to preview their newest cinema productions. It also serves as the island’s civil defense shelter, large enough to accommodate Catalina’s entire year-round population. Within its walls is stored enough food and water for all Avalon’s residents for two weeks.[4]
The steel structure of the predecessor Sugarloaf Casino can still be found in Avalon’s abandoned bird park. The bird park was conceived by Mrs. Wrigley in the 1930s, and at the time it was one of the largest aviaries in the world.
In 1993 the movie theater was photographed by Hiroshi Sugimoto for his art series ’Theatres’.[5]
In 1994, the theater underwent a $750,000 restoration that reupholstered all of its seats and cleaned its murals.[3]
In September 2008, the Catalina Casino had the first live full production of a musical on its stage, when the Santa Catalina Island Company presented Grease!.
In December 2019, The Catalina Island Company stopped screening first run showings of movies, essentially ceasing its function as a traditional film venue.[3] They cite the rise of streaming services and large use of satellite television in the small town of 4000 as contributing factors to the theater’s low attendance.[3][6] However, the theater remain available for daily tours and special events such as the Catalina Film Festival and Silent Film Benefit.[7][3]Structure[edit]
Surrounded by sea on three sides, the circular structure of the Catalina Casino is the equivalent of 12 stories tall. It has a movie theater on the first level and a ballroom on the top level. The Avalon Theatre is a movie theater on the first level, with a seating capacity of 1,154.[8] It has a single massive screen.[9] The theater has its original 4-manual, 16 rank pipe organ built by the Page Organ Company of Lima, Ohio.[8]
The theater is sound insulated so that patrons do not hear the band or up to 3,000 dancers in the ballroom above. The circular domed ceiling has notable acoustics and has been studied by acoustical designers, due to its repute. A speaker on the theater stage can speak in a normal voice without a microphone and be heard clearly by all in attendance.
The theater’s interior walls retain the original Art Deco murals by John Gabriel Beckman. The theater’s facade had a painted mural of an Art Deco-style underwater world scene, which was later replaced with replications of Beckman’s design created in Catalina Pottery-style tiles. The upper-level houses the 20,000-square-foot Catalina Casino Ballroom. It is the world’s largest circular ballroom, with a 180-foot (55 m) diameter dance floor that can accommodate 3,000 dancers.[1] French doors encircle the room connecting the dance floor with the Romance Promenade, an open balcony that runs around the building.
To reach the ballroom on the top level, the Casino building has two ramped walkways, both in enclosed towers that extend out from the circular building. Wrigley took the idea to use ramps instead of stairs from Wrigley Field, his Chicago Cubs stadium. The ramps allowed the large numbers of people using the ballroom to quickly move to and from their destinations. In 1953, Philip K. Wrigley established the Catalina Island Museum on the first level, to preserve the history of the island from the pre-Columbian indigenous Tongva (Gabrielino) peoples through the pre-war 20th-century development by his father. The museum featured a large and comprehensive collection of original Catalina Pottery ceramics, produced by Catalina Clay Products between 1927 and 1937.[1]
On June 18, 2016, the museum relocated to a new building, located approximately one half mile from its original location in the Catalina Casino. The Ada Blanche Wrigley Schreiner Building is located at 217 Metropole Avenue.[1]
The museum continues documenting Catalina Island history, adding from World War II to the present day, and a research institute. It is the repository for all archeological digs on the island, and has one of the largest collections of Tongva artifacts in the world. There are now more than 10,000 photographs and negatives documenting island life from the early 1880s until the present day in the museum’s photography collection.[1]In popular culture[edit]

She had no prior history of such behavior. • In 2011, the British Journal of Psychiatry published a study that examined three patients who used Abilify and exhibited the disorder; all the patients stopped gambling after they stopped using the drug. • In 2014, the medical journal JAMA Internal Medicine published a study that analyzed the records of 1,580 patients who had reported adverse drug effects involving compulsive gambling and other impulse behavior issues. The researchers conducting the study reported that they found a “significant” link between use of Abilify and gambling. • In 2014, the medical journal Addictive Behaviors published a study that looked at 8 people who were being treated for compulsive gambling. A direct link between Abilify and the disorder was present in 7 of the patients. The researchers reported those patients could once again control their impulse to gamble after they were taken off of Abilify. On November 19, 2012, the European Medicines Agency modified the product label to warn of the risk of pathological gambling, even where the patient had no prior history of gambling. On November 2, 2015, Health Canada ordered labelling changes to the prescription antipsychotic drugs Abilify and Abilify Maintena to advise of an increased risk of impulsive behaviours of pathological gambling and hypersexuality. On May 3, 2016, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that warnings regarding “compulsive or uncontrollable urges to gamble, binge eat, shop, and have sex” would be added to the Abilify label. The principal questions of facts and law that will be dealt with collectively are: a) Does ABILIFY® cause, exacerbate or contribute to an increased risk of dangerous side effects including having uncontrollable and irrepressible impulses to engage in harmful impulse control behaviours such as: - pathological gambling (also known as gambling disorder or compulsive gambling) - compulsive eating/ binge eating - uncontrollable or compulsive shopping or spending, and/or - hypersexual behaviours / sexual addiction (the “Impulse Control Disorders”)? b) In the affirmative, did the Defendants know or should they have known about the risks of Impulse Control Disorders associated with the use of ABILIFY? c) Did the Defendants breach the applicable standard of care in failing to adequately test ABILIFY® both before and/or after placing it on the market? d) Did the Defendants have a duty to warn Class Members of the risk of Impulse Control Disorders associated with the use of ABILIFY®? e) Did the Defendants adequately and sufficiently advise/warn the Class Members, Health Canada, and/or their physicians about the risks of experiencing the Impulse Control Disorders associated with the use of ABILIFY®? f) Are the Defendants, or some of them, liable for conspiracy to promote, market, and distribute ABILIFY® in Canada without adequate and timely warnings about the risk of Impulse Control Disorders and, if so, over what period of time? g) Can causality be determined on a collective basis and, if so, can Class Members rely on a presumption to establish causation? h) In the affirmative to any of the above questions, did the Defendants’ conduct engage their solidary liability toward some or all of the Class Members? i) Are the Defendants liable to pay compensatory damages to some or all of the Class Members? j) In the affirmative, can the compensatory damages payable to the Class Members be determined and recovered on a collective basis? k) Are the Defendants liable to pay aggravated or punitive damages and, if so, in what amount? 5. The conclusions sought in relation to the above questions are as follows: GRANT the class action of the Plaintiff and each of the members of the Class; DECLARE that the Defendants failed to provide adequate warnings with regard to the dangerous side effects of ABILIFY; RESERVE the right of each of the members of the Class to claim future damages related to the use of ABILIFY; DECLARE the Defendants solidarily liable for the damages suffered by the Plaintiff and each of the members of the Class; CONDEMN the Defendants to pay to each member of the Class a sum to be determined in compensation of the damages suffered, and ORDER collective recovery of these sums; CONDEMN the Defendants to pay to each of the members of the Class aggravated or punitive damages, and ORDER collective recovery of these sums; CONDEMN the Defendants to pay interest and additional indemnity on the above sums according to law from the date of service of the application to authorize a class action; ORDER the Defendants to deposit in the office of this Court the totality of the sums which forms part of the collective recovery, with interest and costs; ORDER that the claims of individual Class Members be the object of collective liquidation if the proof permits and alternately, by individual liquidation; CONDEMN the Defendants to bear the costs of the present action including expert and notice fees; RENDER any other order that this Honourable Court shall determine and that is in the interest of the members of the Class; 6. The Superior Court has not yet ruled on the merits of the class action, nor on any compensation that may be awarded to class members. The Defendants deny the allegations contained in the class action. 7. Abilify, the brand name of the medication aripiprazole, is prescribed to thousands of people in Canada to treat depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and other mental health issues. However, this antipsychotic agent has been linked to pathological gambling, binge eating, uncontrollable shopping and hypersexual behaviour. Several studies have shown an association between Abilify and compulsive gambling: • In 2010, the journal Australian & New Zealand Journal of Psychology published the story of a woman with schizophrenia who took Abilify, gained nearly 20 pounds in six months through compulsive eating and gambled away thousands of dollars. She had no prior history of such behavior. • In 2011, the British Journal of Psychiatry published a study that examined three patients who used Abilify and exhibited the disorder; all the patients stopped gambling after they stopped using the drug. • In 2014, the medical journal JAMA Internal Medicine published a study that analyzed the records of 1,580 patients who had reported adverse drug effects involving compulsive gambling and other impulse behavior issues. The researchers conducting the study reported that they found a “significant” link between use of Abilify and gambling. • In 2014, the medical journal Addictive Behaviors published a study that looked at 8 people who were being treated for compulsive gambling. A direct link between Abilify and the disorder was present in 7 of the patients. The researchers reported those patients could once again control their impulse to gamble after they were taken off of Abilify. On November 19, 2012, the European Medicines Agency modified the product label to warn of the risk of pathological gambling, even where the patient had no prior history of gambling. On November 2, 2015, Health Canada ordered labelling changes to the prescription antipsychotic drugs Abilify and Abilify Maintena to advise of an increased risk of impulsive behaviours of pathological gambling and hypersexuality. On May 3, 2016, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced that warnings regarding “compulsive or uncontrollable urges to gamble, binge eat, shop, and have sex” would be added to the Abilify label. The class action lawsuit identifies the group of affected persons as: All persons residing in Canada who were prescribed and have ingested and/or used the drug, ABILIFY® (aripiprazole) before February 23, 2017 and who developed one or more of the following impulse control behaviours: - pathological gambling (also known as gambling disorder or compulsive gambling); - compulsive eating/ binge eating; - uncontrollable or compulsive shopping or spending; and/or - hypersexual behaviours / sexual addiction; and their successors, assigns, family members, and dependants, or any other group to be determined by the Court.
